W04--Advanced Lung Disease & Lung Transplant

This workshop aims to explore the changing demographics of people with cystic fibrosis (pwCF) who have advanced CF lung disease (ACFLD), to describe how highly effective modulator therapy (HEMT) impacts the ability to predict who with ACFLD will undergo lung transplant, to examine how HEMT may be used after lung transplant, and to discuss a post-transplant shared care model for pwCF.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review current trends in advanced cystic fibrosis lung disease, including the effect of highly effective modulator therapy on the need for lung transplant
  • Discuss the use of ETI after lung transplant, including pharmacokinetics of ETI in the setting of immunosuppression
  • Summarize patient perspectives and CFF recommendations regarding CF and lung transplant team management of lung transplant recipients with CF
