This session will provide information on how the respiratory care of Cystic Fibrosis patients can be impacted by comorbidities such as asthma, BPD, ABPA, chronic cavitary aspergillosis, mycetoma as well as social factors. Each presentation will be built around one of the above comorbidities. There will be discussion regarding risk factors, treatment strategies, resources, and disease prevention/health promotion efforts for people with Cystic Fibrosis.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how disease co-morbidities impact the respiratory care of people with Cystic Fibrosis.
  • Describe how social determinants can impact the care of children with Cystic Fibrosis.
  • Discuss risk factors, treatment strategies, resources, and disease prevention/health promotion efforts for people with Cystic Fibrosis.
