Nemours Children's Hospital~Delaware
Dawn received her BS degree in Respiratory Therapy at Millersville University of Pennsylvania in 1989. She has been a Respiratory Therapist with Nemours Children's Hospital since that time. Dawn has been with the Cystic Fibrosis care team at Nemours since it began in 1991. During her time at Nemours, she has been involved with both inpatient and outpatient care of children and young adults with CF, quality improvement efforts, research, and education of patients, families, students, and staff. She assisted with the implementation of the Cystic Fibrosis Task Force committee at Nemours Children's Hospital in 2017. Currently, Dawn is the CF registry data entry team member at Nemours Children's Hospital. She serves on the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) CME CF education committee.
She has participated in the Dartmouth Learning and Leadership Collaborative-2 in 2017 as well as the CFF Partnership Enhancement Program in 2020.
Dawn served as a member and chairperson of the CFF Education Committee as well as the Mary M. Kontos care champion award selection committee. She has been a respiratory therapy mentor for the CFF for several years. In 2020, Dawn was nationally recognized for her contributions to the care of people with CF by receiving the Mary M. Kontos care champion award. In 2023, she was awarded the ARCF Mike West Patient Education achievement award at the AARC Congress.
