St. Luke's Cystic Fibrosis Center of Idaho
My name is Rebecca Headley, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the St. Luke's Cystic Fibrosis Center of Idaho in Boise, Idaho. My role in our clinic encompasses both social work and behavioral health services for our pediatic and adult patients. I completed my MSW in 2009 at the University of Chicago and my bachelor's degree in sociology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. I have worked in a variety of areas within the field of social work, eventually finding my best fit within medical social work. I have worked in hospice and palliative care, as well as in hospital emergency rooms, then spent several years as a clinical social work consultant in an acute care hospital, primarily on the trauma and neuro units. I have worked in the St. Luke's CF clinic since March of 2020, and I really enjoy the combination social work/behavioral health role I am able to fill in this clinic, as well as the ability to work with and get to know our patients and families over a long period of time. In addition, I've really enjoyed being able to focus on and learn about the ins and outs of the unique psychosocial and behavioral health impacts that can be associated with Cystic Fibrosis diagnosis, as well as play a role in monitoring and supporting patients and families as treatment and prognosis associated with CF diagnosis continue to rapidly change and progress! I love living in Boise with my husband, delightful five year old daughter, and our dog, Sherpa, but I am originally from West Virginia, which holds a special place in my heart. I love being outside, especially running, biking, camping, rock climbing, and rafting!
