Amy Sangvai has 30 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has worked for University of North Carolina Hospital as an LCSW for the past 23 years and 13 of those years have been with the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center.
Throughout her career Amy has had a deep commitment to improving the mental and behavioral well-being of her patients and families. Amy’s understanding of how socioeconomic factors intersect with mental wellness has been instrumental in shaping innovative strategies to address patient needs. She has participated in quality improvement efforts; designed a comprehensive food insecurity program; and served as a social work mentor, quality improvement coach, presenter, and FI abstract author at NACFC. Amy has also served on the CFF Food Security Committee.
Prior to relocating to North Carolina, Amy provided clinical social work at The Toledo Hospital, James Cancer Hospital at OSU, and Medical College of Ohio. Amy is currently a Disaster Mental Health Supervisor with the American Red Cross and has been responding to natural and man-made disasters since 1995. She received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Bowling Green State University in 1991 and earned her Master of Science in Social Work from The Ohio State University in 1993.
