Dr. Tara Blesh-Boren is a clinical pharmacist on the Cystic Fibrosis Care Team at Children's Nebraska in Omaha, Nebraska. She is an adjunct faculty at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Creighton University, where she precepts students and residents in ambulatory care. She has a diverse background, having started her career in research and development for the military, transitioned to genetic research at Johns Hopkins, and ultimately found her place in the diverse world of pharmacy practice after completing her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Creighton University and completing a residency at Sinai Hospital. Having worked in various areas including critical care trauma, inpatient and outpatient oncology she has found her place in the ambulatory realm. She has always had a passion for ambulatory practice, still practicing in both hematology-oncology and pulmonology, and was honored to become a part of the multidiscipilinary CF team at Children's late 2019- just after approval of Trikafta! Dr. Blesh-Boren is actively involved on the QI team at Children's, and conducts research, while concentrating on medication adherence and access, simplifying complicated regimens, optimizing overall health as well as characterizing more rare impacts of pharmacologic treatments on patients and their families.
