Freda F. Liu, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine and an Attending Pediatric Psychologist at Seattle Children’s Hospital Cystic Fibrosis Center and the Director of Measurement-Based Patient Care for Outpatient Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine. Dr. Liu is also a member of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Prioritizing Research in Mental Health (PRIME) working group. Dr. Liu’s program of research aims to develop scalable mental health service interventions to improve access and quality of mental healthcare for diverse youth and families, including explicitly addressing factors contributing to health inequities. Specifically, her research has focused on developing and evaluating implicit bias interventions for healthcare providers and improving mental healthcare for youths with Cystic Fibrosis include the adaptation of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in telehealth groups for teens with CF. As a member of the Seattle Children's Cystic Fibrosis center, Dr. Liu also serves as the center's Mental Health Coordinator and provides direct clinical services to children and adolescents with Cystic Fibrosis.
