In this session, participants will explore topics related to the complexity of microbial ecology in cystic fibrosis (CF) airways. The microbial population and the health of people with CF is directly impacted by the local physiochemical environment, interactions between microbes, and interactions between microbes and host cells. These interactions are spatially heterogeneous and dynamic, shifting with changes in airway health, exposure to novel microbes, or treatment with elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI), antibiotics, or phage therapy.
