CF respiratory infections are often polymicrobial, which complicates efforts to forecast treatment efficacy and progression of CF disease. This session will describe molecular-, spatial-, and species-level interactions among microbes that define the composition, virulence, and local environment of microbial communities. Presenters will discuss advances in translating CF microbial ecology research into rational diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, with experiences from the incubator to the clinic.
