Cannabis use is increasing among the general population, including the CF community. Modalities of cannabis use can vary due to a number of factors including preference, onset and duration of action, and cost. Communication between CF care team members and people with CF is vital to optimize safety, especially in the setting of complex medication regimens. In this session, participants will explore potential clinical implications of cannabis use, barriers to communication regarding use, and legal considerations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe possible clinical implications of cannabis use including drug interactions and long-term outcomes.
  • Identify care team barriers to discussion regarding cannabis use.
  • Examine possible legal implications of cannabis use and patient care.
