Biography:
Louise Giles MD FRCPC FAAP is a Pediatric Pulmonologist currently at Christus Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine in San Antonio. (Division Chief Pulmonary & Sleep, CF Center Director, Christus Children's Hospital, Baylor Colleg of Medicine)
She started her career as a Registered Nurse, graduating from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario Canada. She then attended Western University (London ON) for her BScN then Medical School. Completing a Rotating Internship (Victoria Hospital, London ON) then a Paediatric Residency (Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario) is when she found her calling in taking care of children with Cystic Fibrosis. She completed two fellowships, one in Paediatric Critical Care Medicine (Western U) and Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine (Duke University, Durham NC). She returned to Canada, as an Assistant Professor (University of Manitoba) and Pediatric Respirologist at Winnipeg Children’s Hospital. She was then recruited to The University of Chicago, Comer Children’s Hospital (Associate Professor) until she came to San Antonio as the Division Chief for Pulmonary & Sleep. Additionally, she is the Center Director for the CF program at Christus Children’s Hospital.
Outside of work, she focuses on her family (amazing partner Tidi), her children and stepson. She is a human mum to Saya, her cat. Louise & Tidi enjoy traveling, reading and hanging out together.
