Jennifer L. Hamilton received her Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Nursing from Brigham Young University in 2007 and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Utah in 2011. In 2021 she was awarded Young Alumni of the Year by the University of Utah College of Nursing. Her clinical practice has been focused on children with special healthcare needs, including children with Cystic Fibrosis. She has been a faculty with the University of Utah College of Nursing since 2015. She created with leadership curriculum and led the mentorship component of a two-year national fellowship for advanced practice providers new to the care of individuals with Cystic Fibrosis. The first cohort had 16 fellows and the second cohort of 15 fellows starts in September 2023. In 2022 she participated in the Translation and Integration of Genomics is Essential in Doctoral Nursing (TIGER) national program working to enhance genomics education in doctoral nursing programs. She has published articles and presented nationally on topics related to the care of children, quality improvement, and advanced practice provider issues.
