Date of Birth: September 23rd, 1991.
Place of Birth: Cienfuegos, Cienfuegos/Cuba.
Occupation: Physician, pediatric pulmonary fellow.
Early Life and Education: She was born and raised in Cuba. Her parents were both physicians, ENT and pediatric radiology. Blanca graduated from medical school in 2015, her university was Universidad de Ciencias Medicas de Cienfuegos. It was located in her hometown, where she was lucky enough to provide medical care to her own community while growing up as a doctor.
Career: She finished her pediatric residency in 2023 at Lincoln Medical and Health Center in the South Bronx, New York. Her hospital mission was taking care of the underserved population and immigrants in the city of New York and The Bronx. While there she received the Chairman’s award at her graduation, for her dedication and leadership as an exemplary third-year resident.
Major Achievements: Graduated summa cum laude from medical school. She is a board-certified pediatrician from 2023.
Personal Life: She has been married for three years now. Her hobbies include cooking, trying food from different cultures, spending time with family and traveling as much as she can.
Current Status: She is currently in her second year of a pediatric pulmonary fellowship at University of Florida-Shands Children Hospital in Gainesville.
Publications/Works: She participated in ATS 2024 with two posters.
