Emily Skala is presently a Research Assistant in the Bone Marrow Transplantation and Immune Deficiency Division at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. She graduated from Butler University, in Indianapolis, IN, in 2008 with a B.S. in Chemistry. After graduation, she worked in an environmental lab for 10 years, performing wastewater and soil regulatory testing. In 2018, Emily and her family moved back to her hometown in Cincinnati, OH, where she started in Dr. Assem Ziady’s Lab. Her research interests include LC mass spectrometry, MS proteomics, and proteomic pathway analysis to learn about the biology of lung disease severity, potential therapeutic targets, and biomarker development.
