Dr. Patrick Smith is a clinical health and neuropsychologist and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His prior work has focused on the use of biobehavioral interventions to help people build resilience to cope with chronic medical conditions, to improve lifestyle habits (e.g. exercise and diet), and to use lifestyle and coping strategies to lower the chances of late life cognitive decline. He has previously served on two International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) consensus committees for the evaluation of heart and lung transplant candidates, as well as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s 2019 recommendations group.
