Julianna Bailey, PhD, RD, LD is the Senior CF and Respiratory Dietitian at Alfred Health. Dr. Bailey received BS in Nutrition and Food Science in 2009 from Auburn University. She completed her Dietetic Internship and earned MS in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2011. She earned PhD in Health Education and Promotion from UAB in 2021. From 2011-2014 she was the Dietitian in the pediatric and adult CF center and the pediatric lung transplant program at Boston Children's Hospital. She served as the Dietitian and Quality Improvement Coordinator for the UAB Adult CF Program from 2014-2023 where she the joined the UAB Division of Pulmonary Medicine as Research Faculty in 2022. Dr. Bailey relocated to Australia to join the CF Program at Alfred Health in 2023. Dr. Bailey has designed and led multiple Quality Improvement at the national and local level, and has served on the CF Learning Network Leadership Team, CF Foundation Food Security Committee, and as Co-Chair of the CF Foundation Experience of Care (XoC) Steering Committee. Dr. Bailey has published numerous abstracts and manuscripts on interdisciplinary QI work, experience of care, and nutrition research in CF. Current research interests include body composition and the emergence of obesity in CF, behavioral interventions to improve nutrition status, and the impact of CFTR modulation therapy on nutrition and metabolic outcomes.
