SPC01--AM: Increasing Our Awareness to School & Vocation Success in CF Interdisciplinary Care

This special class is designed for CF healthcare providers of any discipline who are interested in learning strategies to increase awareness and support for school and vocation-specific topics that are impacted by having and managing CF. The session will offer strategies for increasing interdisciplinary CF team attention to school and vocation in order to provide timely and effective support. A lifespan approach will be used to explore possible needs to optimize school and vocational functioning, as well as legal considerations for eligibility for accommodations. Participants may register for the morning session, the afternoon session, or both sessions.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the range of ways in which having and managing CF can impact school functioning.
  • Discuss how CF interdisciplinary care can include attention to school and vocation in routine care.
  • Practice navigating complex scenarios related to advocacy for appropriate school and workplace accommodations.
