Dartmouth College
Jane T. Jones, Ph.D. is a Senior Research Scientist in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Cramer in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. For her Ph.D. research at the University Vermont Lung Biology center with Dr. Yvonne Janssen-Heininger, Jane focused on understanding the role of alternative Nuclear Factor-kappa B signaling in the airway epithelium in the context of allergic inflammation and how this pathway is regulated via redox-dependent mechanisms. After earning her Ph.D., Jane went on to a post-doctoral fellowship with Dr. Yohannes Tesfaigzi at the Lovelace Respiratory Institute in Albuquerque, NM. Jane’s research focused on elucidating the roles of Bcl-2 family proteins in the context of allergic inflammation in the airways, specifically focusing on methods to dampen the allergic inflammatory response. After completion of her post-doctoral fellowship, Jane joined the Cramer lab at Dartmouth in the summer of 2018. Jane’s research in the Cramer lab focuses on understanding how the current Cystic Fibrosis therapeutic, Trikafta, impacts the CF host-fungal interaction, with a focus on Aspergillus fumigatus. She is particularly interested in leveraging Trikafta therapeutically in the context of A. fumigatus-induced infection/colonization and immunopathogenesis in the CF lung.
