James McMenimen, MD, is a 3rd year adult pulmonary and critical care fellow at Washington University in St. Louis. He is originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and received his undergraduate education at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. He initially gained an interest in cystic fibrosis while working as a research assistant in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Welsh at the University of Iowa. Subsequently, he received his medical education at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He then went on to receive medical training in Internal Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis/Barnes-Jewish Hospital and subsequently stayed at Washington University for his pulmonary and critical care fellowship training. He has an interest in the clinical management of adult patients with cystic fibrosis and lung transplantation.
