Division of Allergy and Immunology, Department of Medicine, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine
Paul A. Greenberger, MD, is Professor Emeritus in the Division of Allergy and Immunology, Department of Medicine, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. I graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine and interned at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. I completed my internal medicine residency at the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis. My fellowship in allergy and immunology was at Northwestern University, where I served as faculty for 45 years until transitioning to Emeritus status in 2022.
My research interests have included allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, moderate to severe asthma and its particular endotypes and phenotypes, drug allergy, idiopathic anaphylaxis, and the use of anti-TSLP with or without allergen immunotherapy in treatment of cat allergy.
I have published over 300 original manuscripts and 112 reviews/book chapters and am co-editor and an author of Patterson’s Allergic Diseases, now in its 8th edition. It has been my pleasure to have served as President of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology and on the board of the World Allergy Organization. Since 2013, I have been a consultant to and have been a member of advisory committees of the Food and Drug Administration. Lastly, I take great pride in participating in the post-graduate education of 175 allergy-immunology fellows at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine since 1978.
