Ph.D. Fellowship at Rigshospitalet
Thomas Bryrup is a Ph.D. fellow at Rigshospitalet, specifically in the Department of Infectious Diseases within the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Unit. His research focuses on a critical and timely theme: "Infection, Inflammation, and Antibiotics in CF after Modulator Treatment." Modulators have significantly improved the health and life expectancy of CF patients, making it essential to understand their effects on infections, which remain a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in CF. Thomas’s work investigates how these treatments influence bacterial colonization, infection patterns, and the inflammatory response, with the goal of optimizing antibiotic therapy and improving patient outcomes.
Skills and Interests
Thomas is dedicated to patient-centered and relevant research, utilizing a broad range of methods from clinical research and trials to epidemiological studies. He is particularly skilled in data management and statistics. His experience as a CF clinician provides him with a well founded perspective and a significant advantage in his research efforts.
