Kari Thrasher, PhD

University of Alabama at Birmingham

Kari Thrasher is a recent PhD graduate from the lab of David Bedwell at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Her PhD work focused on identifying the mechanism of translational readthrough of CFTR nonsense mutations and discovering novel small molecule readthrough agents. Additionally, she investigates the amount of protein function that can be restored via supression of CF-causing nonsense mutations.
