Emma L. Matthews, B.S., is a 3rd year microbiology PhD student at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she studies the effect of chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection on host cellular processes in CF such as cellular senescence in lab of Dr. Stefanie Krick, MD, PhD. Before starting her graduate training, Emma earned her B.S. in Biology from the Universtiy of Georgia in 2019, and completed a post-baccalaureate ORISE fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
