Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM)
I am a post-doc researcher in Luis J.V. Galietta ‘s lab at Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) in Pozzuoli, Italy. I graduated in 2017 at Federico II University in Naples, then I joined TIGEM first as fellow and then as PhD student. I obtained the PhD at European School of Molecular Medicine (SEMM) in 2023. During my PhD I attended many conferences in Italy and abroad I was selected for oral presentation at: ECFS Summer School on Epithelial System, Lisboa 2019; ECFS Basic Science Conference, Albufeira 2022 (Travel grant by Italian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation); European Young Investigator Meeting, Paris 2023; Resolute Conference Unlocking transporters for drug discovery, Vienna 2023. I received ECFS Young Fellows Travel Award at ECFS Basic Science Conference, Valletta 2024.
I published 14 peer-reviewed articles and in november 2022 I published my first-author paper titled “Airway surface hyperviscosity and defective mucociliary transport by IL-17/TNF-α are corrected by β-adrenergic stimulus” on JCI insight. My main project regards how human bronchial epithelia respond to inflammatory stimuli to fight bacterial infections and how these processes are impaired in cystic fibrosis.
