Emory University
My name is Samantha Durfey, and I am currently a postdoc in Ben Kopp's lab at Emory University in Atlanta. I study persistent immune system defects after patients start CFTR modulator therapy, currently focusing on the effects of bile acids on macrophage function. I completed my PhD with Pradeep Singh at the University of Washington in Seattle. There, I studied how chronic pathogens persist after CFTR modulators and found that Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Pa) migrates between lung regions within subjects, resulting in all lung regions remaining Pa-positive.
