Dr. Drucy Borowitz is an Emeritus Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University at Buffalo. She was board certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition; nonetheless she was Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology for almost 20 years and was the Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center at the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo until 2014. Dr. Borowitz is past Chair of the CF Foundation’s Center Committee and has had a leadership role in many of the CF Foundation’s initiatives to improve patient care and advance new treatments. She received the Stockton Kimball Award, bestowed on faculty members who have achieved worldwide recognition as researchers and have been recognized for significant academic accomplishment and service to the university
In 2013, Dr. Borowitz was presented with the Richard C. Talamo Distinguished Clinical Achievement Award by the CF Foundation. This award is given to individuals who have spent their careers in the research and care of patients with cystic fibrosis and whose contributions have had a considerable influence on the course of the disease.
Between 2016 and 2020 she was the senior vice president of Community Partnerships at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, creating a department to bring the perspective of people affected by CF into CFF programs and to create novel ways for people with CF to connect and interact with each other. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Anagram Therapeutics, Inc.
