UCL GOSICH
I am a respiratory physiologist, specialising in paediatric lung function testing.
My PhD was carried out as part of Project Fizzyo - a study using remote monitoring of airway clearance techniques and physical activity. Project Fizzyo captured over 5 million ACT breaths from >55,000 ACT treatments by 145 children and young people with CF. Treatments were carried out as part of routine daily treatments with participant's usual PEP or OPEP devices. These data provided insight into what patients do each day for ACTs. Published data using linear mixed effects models identified which ways of doing treatment were associated with better clinical outcomes. As part of the study, participant's usual ACT devices were also able to control bespoke games during treatment. The ACT driven gaming data are to be presented for the first time at NACFC 2024.
