Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) /Harvard Medical School
I was born in the northwest city of Gondar, Ethiopia. After completing my medical school education at Addis Ababa University in 2006, I embarked on a career that has taken me across continents and through various prestigious institutions.
My professional journey began in a university hospital in Hawassa, Ethiopia, where I served in diverse clinical and academic roles. Seeking further specialization, I pursued post-graduate training in Physiology at Suez Canal University in Egypt in 2010, broadening my understanding of medical sciences.
In 2019, I undertook residency training within the Wellstar Health System in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by three years as a hospitalist in the suburbs of Atlanta. These experiences deepened my clinical expertise and solidified my commitment to pulmonary medicine.
In 2021, I had the privilege of completing a Global Clinical Scholarship training at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, enriching my perspective on public health interventions and global healthcare practices.
Currently, I am pursuing advanced training in Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. Here, I have begun specializing in lung transplantation, a field I am deeply passionate about. This final year of fellowship marks a pivotal stage in my career as I strive to contribute to the advancement of care for patients with advanced lung diseases and lung transplantation.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I find great fulfillment in my role as a husband and father of two children. They provide me with the inspiration and support to pursue excellence in both my personal and professional endeavors.
