UT Southwestern
I was born in Seoul, South Korea. I moved to Michigan when I was 13. Then I went to suburb of Philadelphia to attend Swarthmore College, and obtained medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. I am currently a third-year resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
During my second year in residency, I had an opportunity to work with Dr. Finklea at the Cystic Fibrosis clinic. I observed that caring for CF population requires multi-disciplinary thinking. As much as I became interested in critical care because of big picture thinking and broad-range knowledge it entails, being able to incorporate them into caring for CF population increased my interest in the field. Also, opportunity to foster long-term relationship with people with CF would be a very rewarding and humbling career.
I am presenting case series involving use of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RA) in people with CF who have either diabetes or are overweight. Also, I am currently doing research on relationship between hypogonadism and lung function in males with cystic fibrosis.
