Ryan Thomas, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics & Human Development at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He serves as the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and the Director of the Michigan State University Cystic Fibrosis Center. As part of his role as the CF Center Director at Michigan State University he is collecting data on several quality improvement endeavors. This includes projects addressing antibiotic dosing for Cystic Fibrosis patients, improving genetic counseling rates in the newborns screening program in Michigan, improving pseudomonas eradication protocols and increasing airway clearance use in young children with cystic fibrosis. Reasearch activities include multicenter investigations of the microbiome in people with cystic fibrosis. He is also involved with the American Thoracic Society Pediatric Web Committee where he writes, hosts, and edits podcasts and helps create social media content.
