Michigan State University
I hold a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and Parasitology from the University of Panama. Developing my PhD research at INDICASAT AIP, in collaboration with Acharya Nagarjuna University in India.
Post-doctoral appointment, Michigan State University, MI. At Quinn Lab, I am focusing my research on Cystic Fibrosis and its polymicrobial infection under the new terms of ETI.
My primary research interest lies in microbial ecology, with a focus on understanding the complex interactions that drive biodiversity and the success of host-microbial community interactions and symbiotic systems within different ecosystems. My skills encompass molecular biology and microbial ecology employing techniques such as bacterial and fungal culturing, Sanger sequencing, 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing, and metagenomics.
I am passionate about field sample collection, which I consider akin to hiking, as well as molecular biology lab work. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about bioinformatics, data processing, and the analysis it involves.
