Rachel Higgins, married adult living with cystic fibrosis.
Rachel worked in the music business for 24 years before cf advanced to the point of a potential double lung transplant. To date, Rachel has been able to avoid that surgery, thanks to new modulators. She continues to do all her therapies which include hours of nebs, vest and breathing therapy as well as any movement possible to keep her muscles and bones healthy.
She is a self proclaimed "senior" member of the cystic fibrosis community who now participates in being an advocate as much as possible especially navigating all that goes along with cf in this phase of life. The complications of cystic fibrosis at an older age effect so many more parts of the body, so she speaks to this as much as possible.
Cf still rears its head occasionally and hospital visits are required but thankfully not as often as before.
Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, family (in particuler, her nieces, nephews and now great nephews).
"My goal is to continue to evolve in all aspects of my life, whatever that looks like"
