CF Foundation
Dr. David Nichols, MD is the Senior Director of Clinical Research Development for the CF Foundation and an affiliate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He is board certified in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine. Before joining the CF Foundation, he held academic positions at National Jewish Health/University of Colorado and the Colorado Adult CF Program followed by the Pediatric CF Program at Seattle Children’s Hospital/University of Washington. He was fortunate to work with colleagues in leading multiple national clinical trials in CF (e.g., TEACH, PROMISE, SIMPLIFY) while serving as the Medical Director for the CF Therapeutics Development Network Coordinating Center in Seattle, Washington. His research has focused on host-pathogen interactions in CF lung disease, the broad impacts of CFTR correction, and evolving clinical care needs for people with CF. In his current role at the CF Foundation, Dave focuses on developing new antimicrobial therapies, supporting multi-center academic clinical research studies, and mentorship programs for physician scientists.
