CFFT Lab, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Hermann Bihler, Ph.D., is a research fellow at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutics (CFFT) Lab in Lexington outside of Boston. Dr. Bihler received his Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of Konstanz in Germany. He subsequently completed two postdoctoral fellowships at Yale University and joined a team at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany studying structural and functional aspects of ion transport systems. Dr. Bihler joined the CF drug discovery programs at Epix Pharmaceuticals in 2008 and Flatley Discovery Lab in 2009 as head of electrophysiology. In 2011, Dr. Bihler helped establish the CF Foundation’s drug discovery lab (CFFT Lab) outside of Boston, MA. He currently oversees high-throughput drug discovery, biochemical and functional screening efforts as well as operational (cell bank, primary cell/tissue culture) activities in support of internal and external research projects at the CFFT Lab. His scientific track record is captured in over 80 published abstracts and peer-reviewed publications.
