Kimberly (Kim) Novak, PharmD, BCPS, BCPPS, FPPA is the Advanced Patient Care Pharmacist in Pediatric and Adult Cystic Fibrosis at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Novak completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at West Virginia University in 2002 and then continued her training at University of Kentucky for her Pharmacy Practice Residency, Pediatric Specialty Residency, and Teaching Certificate. Dr. Novak has held a specialist position since 2004 in Pulmonary Medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital which has a combined pediatric and adult CF center providing care to over 450 patients. She has also been the residency program director for the PGY2 pediatric pharmacy residency since 2006 and has trained 36 PGY2 pediatric pharmacy residents during her tenure. She teaches within the Pediatric, Psychiatry, and Infectious Diseases curriculum at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and precepts students from a variety of pharmacy schools within the region. Dr. Novak is an author of several book chapters and journal articles and routinely speaks nationally on CF at pharmacy meetings. Her practice and research interests include cystic fibrosis, pharmacokinetics, antimicrobial optimization, mental health, and mentorship of pharmacy residents and students.
