Margret Powell, CCRC, is a clinical research coordinator at UNC Chapel Hill and a PhD student (Psychology and Neuroscience) at Baylor University. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2016 with a BS in Psychology, BA in Political Science, and a minor in neuroscience. Afterward, she attended North Carolina State University for a year of post-baccalaureate research coursework before joining the UNC CF Center in the fall of 2017. She has taken on various roles, including data coordinator, where she managed the PortCF Registry and specimen biorepository, and research coordinator, primarily handling PI-initiated NIH-funded and FDA-sponsored studies. She has also served as the primary coordinator and clinical research lead for the Adult CF research group, overseeing clinical trials (TDN, industry, and PI-initiated) and handling managerial, administrative, and regulatory duties. She currently works part time and remotely, focusing on regulatory responsibilities and data entry. Her professional goals include completing her PhD in Psychology and returning to CF mental health research and care in a new capacity and re-joining her local IRB. In her free time, Margret enjoys cross-stitching and reading with her 19-year-old cat and watching hockey games.
