Siri Vaeth, MSW
Siri Vaeth is the Executive Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Research Institute (CFRI), a nonprofit organization which funds cystic fibrosis (CF) research in medical and academic institutions nationwide, provides educational and psychosocial support services, and advocates on behalf of the CF community. Her involvement with CFRI began in 1995, after her daughter’s diagnosis with cystic fibrosis. Siri has a BA in Politics and a Master’s in Social Welfare. She is Chair-elect of the American Thoracic Society’s Public Advisory Roundtable, and an active member of the ATS Education Committee’s Professional Development workgroup. Prior to CFRI, Siri was a Head Start social worker, nonprofit executive, and chair of the Family Advisory Council at the Stanford CF Center. Siri currently serves on several coalitions to advance legislation and policies to improve the lives of those with cystic fibrosis and rare disease. Areas of focus include Rare Disease Advisory Councils, Prescription Drug Affordability Review Boards, discriminatory metrics in drug value assessment, and copay accumulator policies. In matters of health and health policy, Siri is committed to elevating the patient voice and ensuring access to quality care and therapies.
