Daina Kalnins, M.Sc., RD (she/her/hers)

Daina Kalnins, MSc., RD

Daina is a registered dietitian and Director of Clinical Dietetics at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. As head of the department, which includes the Breastfeeding Program, Daina oversees a group of over 50 dietitians and nurses working in both in and outpatient settings. Daina continues to practice in a clinical component of her role, in the CF clinic and the lung transplant program. Her CF research interests have included enzyme therapy and gastronomy tube feeding support as well as nutritional status in lung transplant.
Daina has authored and co -authored over 15 publications and chapters related to CF and nutrition and is author/co-author of 5 books on nutrition.
Daina is a strong advocate for supporting evidence-based practice and has engaged the Clinical Dietetics team in caring safely practices, as well as quality improvement initiatives.
