Rebekah Flowers Brown received her M.D. in 2003 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR. She completed her pediatric residency and an additional year as Chief Resident at Childrens Hospital Medical Center of Akron in Akron, OH where she was involved in institutional and statewide quality improvement initiatives in her role as Chief Resident. She completed her pediatric pulmonary fellowship training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2010. Dr. Brown joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2010 and accepted the position of CF Center Director in 2011. Dr. Brown has been active in establishing the infant CF clinic at Vanderbilt in 2008. She developed and revised CF with pneumonia order sets and medication protocols for the hospital and has been active in the development of CF antibiotic guidelines for Vanderbilt Pediatric CF Program. Dr. Browns interests have included addressing nurse practitioner and physician assistant roles in CF programs resulting in publication of survey data from CF program directors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants CF in 2012. She serves on the CF Foundation Center Director's Committee and worked as a mentor of new program directors. She has developed the Quality and Program Improvement Committee for the CF Center and for the Pediatric Pulmonary Division at Vanderbilt and is active in the Pediatric Outpatient QI Interest Group at Vanderbilt. She currently serves as a co-chair of the CF Foundation Model of Care Guidance committee.
