Vin Tangpricha is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology,
Metabolism and Lipids at Emory University School of Medicine, USA.
Dr Tangpricha received his medical degree from Tufts University School of
Medicine, USA. He completed his internal medicine residency and endocrinology
fellowship at Boston University Medical Center, USA. He completed his Ph.D.
degree in molecular medicine on the topic of vitamin D at Boston University
School of Medicine. His research focuses on vitamin D in people with cystic
fibrosis on bone and gut microbiome. He is also interested in gender diversity
and sex steroid hormones in people living with CF. He is a member of the
SHARING-Men’s Health group to increase research activities in men with CF with sexual
and reproductive health concerns. He has over 250 original peer-reviewed
manuscripts on the topic of vitamin D, cystic fibrosis and gender diverse people.
His current and past sources of funding support include the NIH and the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation. He co-chaired the vitamin D guidelines committee for the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is the principal investigator trial to evaluate the
role of vitamin D on gut microbiome in people with CF.
