Maggie McIlwaine, PhD

University of British Columbia

Maggie McIlwaine MCSP, CPA, PhD is currently an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia.
Dr McIlwaine is the Network Manager for CF CanACT ( CF Canada Accelerating Clinical trials network). Maggie completed her undergraduate training in Physiotherapy in Ireland before moving to Canada in 1979. For a number of years, Maggie worked as a Physiotherapist in various Cystic Fibrosis Clinics while conducting numerous clinical trials focusing on airway clearance in Cystic Fibrosis. In 2015 Maggie completed a PhD with a focus on airway clearance and Clinical Trials at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland under Dr Stuart Elborn. Maggie has been a member of the planning committees for both the North American Cystic Fibrosis and the European Cystic Fibrosis Conferences. She is presently the Principal Investigator for a clinical trial on Adherence to airway clearance in cystic fibrosis..
