Bob Goodholm is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Care Center at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Bob received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Florida and master’s degree in social work at the Florida State University. He has a diverse clinical background that includes experience in community mental health, substance abuse treatment, hospital discharge planning, and dialysis social work. He maintains clinical social work licenses in Florida and Georgia. Bob has been at the Mayo Clinic’s Adult Cystic Fibrosis Care Center since January of 2020 and serves as the Social Worker and Mental Health Coordinator for a growing population of adults with Cystic Fibrosis. His efforts to strengthen the relationship between care center staff and adults with CF at the Mayo Clinic include the creation of a monthly newsletter, offering a monthly support group that is open to any adult with CF, and helping to establish a patient and family advisory council. His current research interests revolve around body image and mental health, integration of cognitive behavioral therapy into CF care, and evaluating the efficacy of clinical approaches to treat depression and anxiety in people with cystic fibrosis. At the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation level, Bob serves as a member of the Steering Committee for the Experience of Care (XoC) Survey, Partnership Enhancement Program (PEP) Champion and XoC Champion, and as a facilitator for a Peer Mental Health Consultation Group. He also started the Mayo Clinic Florida Great Strides Team in 2020 and has served as Team Captain for the last four years. Bob is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Society of Transplant Social Workers, and the National Kidney Foundation's Council of Nephrology Social Workers. When not working Bob enjoys spending time with his wife and family, especially when that includes going to the beach or other outdoor activities.
