Widespread use of highly effective modulator therapy (HEMT) led to a marked improvement in CF health, and the long-term influences on the hallmark “vicious cycle” of obstruction, infection, and inflammation are under current investigation. This session will review three key areas of CF pathophysiology, i.e., muco-obstructive disease, infection, and inflammation, with emphasis on the most recent emerging evidence of the impacts of highly effective modulator therapy and contrasts with prior treatments for people with CF.
