This workshop highlights community partnerships and quality improvement interventions addressing critical issues in health equity among individuals with CF from diverse and often underrepresented experiences. We will explore health service interventions to address the unique needs of LGBTQIA+ people with CF, those who are ineligible for modulators, who may decline lung transplant education, and have barriers for accessing timely sweat chloride testing, as well as training to address potential biases among the CF care team.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify clinical and research opportunities to address equity among people with CF from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.
  • Discuss community engagement and potential QI interventions to approach care disparities for LGBTQIA+ perspectives and research participation.
  • Summarize interventions that consider health inequities in CF newborn screening, CFTR modulator ineligibility, and through implicit bias training and how they may apply to other CF programs.
