This session consists of two main parts: poster viewing followed by a moderated discussion. It is designed to engage the authors and the audience in a discussion that ties together ideas from multiple posters in the session. This session delves into the intricate dance between bacteria (the “bugs”), therapeutic interventions (the “drugs”), and the immune system (the “immunologic thugs”) in the context of cystic fibrosis. Attendees will gain insights into novel approaches for managing infections in CF, antimicrobial strategies, and host defense mechanisms. By exploring our understanding of how the immune system interacts with both bugs and drugs, attendees will learn about innovative therapies that improve outcomes for individuals living with Cystic Fibrosis in the era of CFTR modulator therapies.
