This symposium will cover a variety of topics that impact women with CF as they grow older and face a variety of changes in their physical and emotional health. First, we will open with a discussion on shifting the focus from resilience, stress and coping to agency, empowerment, and expertise in the context of embodied knowledge in chronic illness self-management. Next, we will hear about the impact of aging and menopause in females with CF. This is followed by an overview of risks and drug interactions associated with common medications used to treat peri-menopausal symptoms. We will end with a CF community member who will share her experiences as a person aging and thriving with CF and offer guidance to clinicians about best care approaches for this special population.
